I really enjoy seeing the potential in the photo realised. The original photo can be a good photo but with editing and additional colour work that photo can become a work of art. I’m not blagging and saying all my photos are works of art but I aspire for them to be.
In this case the original photo was taken by Alex Beadon from her ‘Edit This Photo series on her blog. I love these invites she gives out allowing us fellow bloggers to interact with her and her work. She’s fabulous :D .. also can you believe that 153 other folks besides me edited the same photo?! Talk about audience participation *faints*
So now you get to see in clear detail the before and after.. this is a nifty wordpress plugin eh?!

I absolutely adore your edit!!! :D I can never add blur without it looking fake – you’ve done it PERFECTLY here! Thanks so much for joining in, it was so brilliant to see them all together at the end! (although it took ages to load and see the page in full haha)
PS I am LOVING how you did the cool before and after slider! Which wordpress plugin is it?
Hi Alex, the wordpress plugin is called ‘Before After’, it is seriously cool and going to show the my pre & post edits off better :D
Thank you for the retouching series of yours, it’s very interesting to see how everyone edits so differently according to personal taste and skills. Also the blur perfection comes from a PS plugin called Bokeh 2 by Alien Skin and I also use their other plugin called Exposure 3, very very worth the money in my opinion. The plugins work with both Lightroom & Photoshop.
Wow, that slider thing is very cool! Your edit was also equally as awesome!
Gah! Took me a while to get a chance to look at this but I’m so glad I did. Love the new look of the site (not that I saw the older one! LOL) and really like your edit. So funny, but I’m with Alex- I never can get the blur to look natural (to me) but you really, really nailed it. And the plugin? Swanky!! :D Thanks for checking in with me Cathie. I appreciated it.
