on the topic of Life, Photography

This website is now live again, it lives .. johnny five alive, my site is live! Uh, I just geeked out .. oops. But seriously. This is very cool news .. it means I can talk again about what I do in photography & design. Now I can tell you my news .. its good news!

I’m back open for business, a very recent redundancy from my day job has given me and my life a very serious wake up call. Bam, it happens. Suddenly your boss tells you “Uh, Cathie? I’m sorry but you aren’t going to have a job in a months time!” .. me: *crickets*. So I’m still going to be job hunting (I’d be stupid not too) but I’m claiming loud and clear: this is what I want to do. I want to be my own boss. I’m a great photographer, I’m good at design and I looooove information and all the ways it exists! Okay I’ll stop with the exclamation marks, what can I say, I like them.

So I’m here, proud little gay heart saying out loud.

“I want to work with you!”

I want to shoot your memories, I want to celebrate life and I aim to live rejoicefully and with passion. Now I want to include you .. your stories, your photographs, your designs .. the great new flyer you need because you are following your dreams and launching a business.

I love humanity and meeting new people is so much fun. Stories and memories fascinate me, especially ones that come from true stories in real lives. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen Erin Brockovich or how much love is felt watching ‘The Blind Side’ with Sandra Bullock.

This website has survived its first day back .. whew.

So get in touch and tell me you want me to take your photo, or make you some new flyers for your business.

The power of a look, a dog portrait

The power of a look, a dog portrait

It's funny how a dog staring at you trying to tell you something, and sunlight at just the right point can be so so powerful. Here's a Mabel stare .. mum, mum, look into my eyes .. I'm trying to tell you something! Followed by a slightly softer look, more of a dog...

A mini blep in the woods

A mini blep in the woods

I've been taking my camera out with me more and more lately, especially while walking with my dog. I'm really enjoying having something to capture mini slices of life, to help me focus on a single moment and not the chaos of life. I loved this little green leaf among...

Long exposures & Markets

Long exposures & Markets

I am pushing my own comfort boundaries and that night, I went to the christmas market with the leeds deaf photography group to practise my BSL, be social with new folks and pick up my camera again for me, to capture the world as I see it. This is what I saw.
