Hoping to learn at Sue Bryce’s side in Seattle

on the topic of Life

It’s funny, only a few weeks ago a photographer friend of mine asked on facebook “Who would you love to have your portrait take by?” and we could name any photographer in the world and I named Sue Bryce. Well time passes and then I look up CreativeLIVE again to find out who are the next folks teaching classes live for free and who pops up?!

Sue Bryce!

Now I hadn’t applied for a spot until the very last minute as it’s going to take a lot of hard work for me to get there: ie. winning a place to start with. If I can get that then the hard work begins to ensure I work enough jobs in order to get flights and hotel for my stay in Seattle. I’ll most likely be asking for donations online so be prepared just in case I send the call out asking for your help to help me achieve a dream of mine.

I woke clean out of sleep with my brain screaming at me to apply for this chance. I felt like that joke about a lottery ticket and god.

Joke: A man prays ever night to win the lottery… as time goes on, his prayers become more urgent. One night he says, “God, I pray for this night after night, why haven’t you answered my prayer?”

Suddenly the voice of God responds: “You need to meet me halfway on this… You need to buy a ticket.

So I’m feeling hopeful and I KNOW that whoever the 6 are that get a place are very very lucky and I’m hoping a wish and a prayer that one of them will be me.

Thank you internet for listening to my wish.

Cathie.

Ps. Did I tell you that I LOVE the name of her blog? It’s called ‘In Bed With Sue‘ how cute is that?!

The power of a look, a dog portrait

The power of a look, a dog portrait

It's funny how a dog staring at you trying to tell you something, and sunlight at just the right point can be so so powerful. Here's a Mabel stare .. mum, mum, look into my eyes .. I'm trying to tell you something! Followed by a slightly softer look, more of a dog...

A mini blep in the woods

A mini blep in the woods

I've been taking my camera out with me more and more lately, especially while walking with my dog. I'm really enjoying having something to capture mini slices of life, to help me focus on a single moment and not the chaos of life. I loved this little green leaf among...

Long exposures & Markets

Long exposures & Markets

I am pushing my own comfort boundaries and that night, I went to the christmas market with the leeds deaf photography group to practise my BSL, be social with new folks and pick up my camera again for me, to capture the world as I see it. This is what I saw.
