Congratulations and Happy Anniversarry to Sarah & Darren. I shot my third ever wedding as a second shooter a year ago in Dorset alongside the fantastic Greg Thurtle. Two naval officers got married: Sarah and Darren and their wedding was absolutely gorgeous at Larmer Tree Gardens in Dorset. I (like most others) think rain is a bane on wedding days but I’ve changed my mind, it’s just weather. Life carries on and it creates such soft lighting that it is beautiful and rich.

I love their quirky additions to their wedding, the London bus which is just fantastic and the great games available for guests to play at Larmer Tree Gardens is brilliant. Larmer Tree has definitely got to be one of the best wedding locations I’ve been to so far, so much diversity to shoot with there. Ponds, walk ways, pavilions, stages and so much more. Oh and their food .. devine! I was fed along with Greg, which is a great bonus, their sublime Sea Bass dish. Oh .. my compliments to the chef!
Big thanks go to Greg Thurtle for allowing me to second shoot alongside him and learn by experience. You can see Greg’s wedding photography story of the day here. Being able to see what Greg captured versus what I caught is another lesson to see the differences in vision too!
The little details of the day were gorgeous, the bouquet’s, the cake, the swords .. the splashes of gold and yellow to tie it all together were the icing on the cake.
